DAZED X RABANNE ARTS FACTORY2024
I was selected as the winner for the Dazed and Rabanne Arts Factory. We were told to respond to the brief “visualise new realities”, and I developed mine through an exploration of my own relationship with physical devices, shaped by both technophilia and technophobia. Through chaotic, fast-paced digital animation, I created a world where humans and machines move in tandem. We can't quite tell if the machine and the human are codependent or are cohesive. The characters embody this tension: technology as something intimate, comforting, even romantic (e.g. sitting on the toilet with our phones, sleeping with our devices etc). The human is no longer a separate being but a peripheral. This environment is a layered reflection on how technology is deeply entangled with daily rituals and identity.
